Nowadays, in the globalized world we live in, it is practical to be able to speak two languages, but why? Is it always so useful?

Speaking two languages has its advantages. If we look at it from the point of view of mental agility, is it said that people who speak more than one language have more ability to learn other languages more quickly. Furthermore, another of the advantages of being bilingual is being able to talk with other people who speak one of the two languages, and that maybe if you only spoke one you could not communicate with them.

However, being bilingual can also have its disadvantages. There are times that people who speak two languages are confused with the language when speaking or writing. They use words from the other language when they should not, or they invent words. In addition, there are also times that the second language spoken is not so well known, and therefore, years of study in a language have been lost, when time could have been used to learn another more popular or important language.

In my opinion, I think that speaking two languages is very practical nowadays because the world is very globalized, but I also believe that it is much more useful to be bilingual depending on the languages that you know are and how globalized they are.
