It is well known that alcohol and tobacco are harmful to our own health. But even knowing that, people continue to consume that kind of substances and without having any problem, because it is legal. Should the government make these substances illegal?
Personally, I believe that should be outlawed, because it would be a big step that would help to improve not only public health, in addition to reducing diseases like cancer. On the other hand to improving the quality of your own life.
Furthermore, In my opinion I think the government would have to take the step seeing that the only beneficiary is the government itself. Millions of euros are collected because of selling these types of substances.
The state wants to give the opposite image and turn against these drugs. But the only reason not to ban it is that every time they earn more money with taxes on tobacco and alcohol.
In conclusion, in the case of tobacco and alcohol, society tolerates people from causing harm to themselves. The tobacco industry has ensured that there is no social recognition of the number of unnecessary deaths associated with tobacco use. They go for 1,000 million people in the 21st century.
