Nowadays,
there is a big controversy about music piracy. While some people think that it
should not be allowed since it generates huge losses for the record company,
other people claim that it should be permitted. But who is right?
Firstly, one
of the advantages of music piracy is that we do not have to pay, sometimes the
prices that record companies charge are too expensive and not everyone can
afford it. In this way, if we pirate music, everyone is able to enjoy the music
of their favourite band or singer without worrying about the price. Another
good thing is that you are able to pirate music everywhere or anyplace with
wifi connection and it only takes 5 minutes to do it, it is very easy.
On the other
hand, one of the disadvantages is that if you pirate music, the artists and the
record companies are not getting any profit of their own success. They would
lose money and if this keeps on, many record companies may have to close. All
the effort and money they put into their work would be worthless. Another
disadvantage is that the music does not have the same quality when you pirate
it than when you buy the album, so you would not listen the best version of the
song.
In
conclusion, even though music piracy has advantages and disadvantages, I am in
favour of it. It may make the artist lose some money, but there are people who
can afford buying their album or have to use the money for more important
things. From my point of view, music piracy, is the only way in which everyone
is able to listen whatever they want anywhere.
